Living Funerals

A chance to celebrate the living

A deeply personal ceremony that brings people together to share stories, tributes and gratitude.

WHAT IS A LIVING FUNERAL?

A deeply personal celebration of a life

A living funeral, often chosen by those facing terminal illness, gives someone the unique opportunity to celebrate life, express gratitude and hear the stories, memories and tributes shared while they are still here to appreciate them.

A living funeral can offer comfort, connection and a farewell shaped entirely on the individual's own terms.

I'll take time to learn about the person's life and create a personalised ceremony that reflects who they are, including readings, music, personal stories or spiritual elements if desired.

WHAT I OFFER

A ceremony as personal as the life it celebrates

A ceremony shaped around them

Indoors or outdoors, intimate or a larger gathering, serious or joyful. Everything is shaped around what matters most and what feels right.

Tributes shared in person

A warm gathering where stories, memories and love are shared by the people who matter most, in a way that feels meaningful and unhurried.

Support when the time comes

I'll be there to help guide the family through, ensuring the farewell is handled with the same warmth and care.
The process

How it works

Step 1

Your first conversation

Whether you've been referred or reached out directly, we'll begin with a complimentary 30-minute consultation, available face-to-face, by phone or virtually via Zoom or FaceTime.
Step 2

Weaving your tribute together

We'll meet and weave together a personalised ceremony to include music, readings and any personal touches you'd like to add, shaped entirely around the individual.
Step 3

When the time comes

I'll liaise with your family to finalise the arrangements, meet them upon arrival and officiate the service on your behalf.

What people say

So Pleasant and Professional

“First at the Green Burial and then at the venue for a service and wake to celebrate my husbands life. Guided us and helped make the day so very pleasant and smooth running.”

Mrs C
My Husband's Funeral

“Sue visited us in our home and went through all the details in a warm, friendly and empathetic manner. We communicated via email to finalise the information for the order of service, eulogy and poems. Sue suggested ‘The Dash’ poem which was a beautiful addition to the service.”

Let's have a conversation

If you'd like to talk through what a living funeral might look like, I'm here to listen. No obligation, just a conversation.
